New buses, new routes. Better connections for Western Sydney

NEW BUSES. NEW ROUTES. BETTER CONNECTIONS FOR WESTERN SYDNEY.

Western Sydney is growing rapidly and with new bus services launching from July 2026, local communities will soon benefit from more frequent and better connected transport options, improved reliability and upgraded infrastructure across the region.

As part of the New Bus Services for Western Sydney program, Transit Systems has worked in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) leaning on local knowledge to design a bus network that reflects how people actually move between Liverpool, Campbelltown, Narellan, Oran Park, Leppington and the new Western Sydney International Airport.

Three new routes will operate from the electrified Bradbury Depot:

• Route 825: Liverpool → Bonnyrigg → WSI Airport

• Route 845: Campbelltown → Narellan → Oran Park → WSI Airport

• Route 860: Liverpool → Leppington → WSI Airport

An enhanced Route 840 will also operate between Leppington to Campbelltown Hospital, improving access to health and education hubs.

The new services are enabled by major electrification upgrades at the Bradbury Depot and the rollout of 25 new electric buses designed to provide a quieter, smoother and more comfortable ride or passengers and support the NSW Government’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050.  24 of these buses feature enhanced luggage storage — a practical upgrade for customers travelling with baggage, particularly airport passengers.

The depot upgrade, including charging systems for the initial electric fleet, was delivered end to end from concept to commissioning. It supports charging for all 25 buses today and positions the site for full electrification in the future, meeting all TfNSW standards.

Service expansion also means more employment opportunities for drivers, maintenance teams and operations staff.

Rino Matarazzo, Transit Systems Managing Director, said:

“These new services are a major step forward for Western Sydney.

“We’re increasing frequency, improving connections, and making it easier for people to get to work, school and home safely and reliably.

“Western Sydney is growing rapidly and our network is evolving to meet that demand.”

The new services will improve access to hospitals, education, retail precincts, employment, the broader public transport network and the new airport.

As the region continues to grow, Transit Systems NSW works side by side with TfNSW to deliver a modern and community focused network. New buses, more services and better connections are laying the foundation for a more accessible Western Sydney, built for locals and built to last.
