Transit Systems celebrates Ferragosto shuttle success with record numbers onboard
Transit Systems proudly partnered with the City of Canada Bay as a sponsorship partner for this year’s Ferragosto Festival, held on Sunday 17 August - helping thousands of visitors enjoy a stress-free, sustainable and accessible journey to one of Sydney’s most loved community celebrations.
With record numbers of passengers carried throughout the day, Transit Systems operated two full-sized buses on a continuous shuttle service, ensuring festivalgoers had easy access to the Italian-inspired festivities without the need to navigate local parking challenges.
Transit Systems NSW Managing Director, Rino Matarazzo, said the partnership highlighted the company’s passion for supporting local communities through smart, sustainable transport solutions.
“Both buses were wheelchair and pram accessible, and the service was offered free to the community, reinforcing our commitment to connecting people to places that matter most,” he said.
It was a day of sunshine, food, music and culture, and the shuttles provided the perfect way for families, friends and visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in Ferragosto’s vibrant atmosphere.
“We were proud to once again support Ferragosto as a sponsorship partner to the City of Canada Bay. It’s always a fantastic day for families, and this year was extra special with record numbers of passengers choosing to hop on board.
“Our team loved being part of the celebration and we’re thrilled to see how much the community embraced the free service,” Mr Matarazzo said.
The free shuttles reduced congestion around the event and made it easier for people to relax and enjoy the day – without the hassle of parking.
“The success of our shuttles for Ferragosto 2025 showcases the power of well-planned charter services in bringing communities together during special events and ensures visitors leave with a good serving of both culture and convenience,” Mr Matarazzo added.
