Swan Transit Teams Go All Out for Radio Lollipop Uniform Free Day

From superheroes and witches to racing car drivers and everything in between, Swan Transit depots across Western Australia were awash with colour, creativity and generosity as teams came together to celebrate Radio Lollipop Uniform Free Day.

This year, the Swan Transit team swapped their uniforms for costumes and casual wear, all in the name of raising much‑needed funds for children in WA hospitals. Thanks to the incredible enthusiasm of our people, we proudly raised $12,635.90 for Radio Lollipop.

A FUN DAY WITH A POWERFUL PURPOSE

Uniform Free Day has been a long‑standing tradition across the public transport network, encouraging bus drivers, operational staff and volunteers to dress up and donate to support Radio Lollipop’s vital work.

For more than 30 years, Transperth has supported Radio Lollipop through this network‑wide initiative, helping fund programs that deliver laughter, play and positivity to children during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

Radio Lollipop is a charitable organisation that believes in the healing power of play. Their trained volunteers provide “laugh support” at bedsides, play spaces and via hospital radio, bringing joy and connection to children and their families when it’s needed most.

HOW OUR TEAMS MADE IT HAPPEN

Swan Transit depots pulled together in true community spirit, raising funds through a range of creative activities, including:

  • Morning teas and BBQs
  • Donation tins on buses
  • Cash for can collections
  • Fun games such as “guess the lollies”

From early starts to end‑of‑shift celebrations, our teams embraced the day wholeheartedly, proving once again that even small actions can make a big difference.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE

A huge thank you to every Swan Transit employee who dressed up, donated, baked, collected coins or helped organise activities. Your generosity will help Radio Lollipop continue delivering laughter and light to children across WA hospitals.

Together, we’ve shown the power of teamwork, compassion and community — and had a lot of fun along the way.
