Meet Michelle📍Go West, WA

How Michelle found her dream career at Go West

Since joining Go West in 2022, Michelle has built a career she genuinely loves. Today, she proudly serves as a school bus driver, ensuring that students arrive at school and return home safely, reliably, and with a friendly face to start and end their day. For Michelle, it’s a role that fits her life, fuels her sense of adventure, and continues to exceed every expectation she once had for herself.

A ROLE THAT BRINGS JOY, PRIDE AND PURPOSE

Michelle’s day begins with what she sees as a simple but meaningful responsibility: transporting school children safely and on time.

But the part she loves most?

Being behind the wheel.

As someone who enjoys driving and caring for people, the role feels like it was made for her. Every route, every day, every group of students brings something different — and Michelle embraces it wholeheartedly.

INSPIRED BY OPPORTUNITY AND THE FREEDOM TO TRAVEL

When asked what drew her to the transport industry, Michelle doesn’t hesitate: flexibility and opportunity.

Her role has taken her across the Pilbara, all the way up to Darwin, and through the stunning South West of Western Australia, driving wedding groups and wine‑tour guests on weekends.

“The flexibility and opportunities to travel while being paid is what inspired me,” she says.

It’s the perfect blend of work and adventure.

ADVICE FOR WOMEN THINKING ABOUT JOINING THE INDUSTRY

Michelle speaks with passion when encouraging other women to consider bus driving.

Her message is simple:

“If you have the confidence, capability and common sense, you can absolutely do this job. We as women have so much to offer.”

She never imagined she’d be trusted to drive such impressive, high‑quality coaches but the moment she sat behind the wheel, she knew she had found something special.

“Driving them is a dream. The best career change I’ve ever made.”

A JOB SHE LOVES, EVERY SINGLE DAY

Perhaps the most powerful part of Michelle’s story is this:

“In all the years I’ve worked for Go West, there’s never been a day I woke up hating the thought of going to work. It’s been the best job I’ve ever had.”

Her pride, enthusiasm and genuine love for the role shine through in every word — a true testament to the positive culture and opportunities available at Go West.
