Transit Systems NSW inspires students at Airds High School through Clontarf partnership
At Transit Systems NSW, we are committed to fostering strong community connections and creating pathways for future careers in the transport industry. As part of our ongoing partnership with the Clontarf Foundation, our team recently visited Airds High School to engage with students and share insights into the opportunities available in the bus industry.
The Clontarf Foundation is dedicated to improving the education, life skills, self-esteem, and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. By partnering with Clontarf, Transit Systems aims to support students in developing skills and confidence that will help them transition into meaningful employment.
Marcela and Loomi, of the Transit Systems NSW P&C team, had the opportunity to visit Airds High School and tour the Clontarf academic room. The students provided a detailed explanation of their program, highlighting how it helps build resilience, leadership, and career readiness. This visit allowed the team to gain deeper insights into how we can best support these students in creating a career path within Transit Systems.
“We’re always looking for ways to open doors for young people and create career pathways that lead to real opportunities,” said Marcela Lucas, Transit Systems NSW Recruitment & Workforce planning Supervisor. “Through our partnership with Clontarf, we want to show students that there are rewarding jobs in transport where they can grow and succeed.”
By building relationships with schools like Airds High, Transit Systems NSW is not only helping students gain industry knowledge but also reinforcing our commitment to building a inclusive and resilient workforce.
