On-Time Running data puts Transit Systems in first and second place (NSW)
Transit Systems has achieved its vision of operating a more reliable service in the Transport for NSW network, securing both first and second place for On-Time Running in February 2021, for Region 6 and Region 3.
Placing well above the KPI of 95%, Transit Systems achieved 97.2% On-time running in Region 6 and 96.7% for Region 3.
Clint Feuerherdt, Group CEO of SeaLink Travel Group, which owns Transit Systems said it was always their vision to bring world class practices to the local network and deliver a more reliable and convenient service.
“February marked 12 consecutive months that we have consistently achieved above the KPI set out by Transport for NSW, and we’re absolutely committed to continuing to improve the service for our customers.
“It wasn’t something we could fix overnight – we have undertaken reviews, assessments, consultations and integrations to ensure a seamless improvement from where we started, to where we are now.
“We are incredibly proud of our team for working through the logistics of all the complex realities involved, and over the course of improvements, we have experienced a reduction in customer complaints, a decrease in cancelled services and a huge increase in On-Time Running,” he said.
Internally collected data shows that complaints have significantly reduced, by nearly 45% in the first 2 years of operation (18/19 v 19/20).
Mr Feuerherdt said Transport for NSW had been very accommodating of improvement suggestions and recommendations, from timetable changes to network planning.
“We have had our global team of experts working on these networks, drawing on international experience from some of the most sophisticated public transport solutions across the world, including experiences in the highly regarded Transport for London network, and Singapore.
“We are proud to reach this milestone, showcasing what we knew to be possible, but more than that, we are incredibly satisfied to know that the people of Sydney are the winners, with a more reliable and convenient public transport solution now in operation,” he said.
Mr Feuerherdt also commended the NSW Government on their commitment to providing a more efficient and reliable service to customers, while addressing more sustainable transport solutions.
“As we move forward, we are looking at new ways to improve the customer experience with our Government partners, and we’re excited about the Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) network solutions on the horizon with Transport for NSW.
“It’s an exciting time to catch a bus!” he said.
