Torrens Transit is always eager to hear from prospective employees who demonstrate excellent customer service, driving knowledge or have mechanical qualifications in the view to becoming a bus driver or vehicle mechanic.

You will require as a minimum a Medium Rigid (MR) Licence and a Large Passenger (LP) Accreditation with the Office of Public Transport. Torrens Transit will train suitably qualified applicants who hold a car (C) Licence to the required standard. Confidential interviews and driving assessments are carried out as vacancies become available.

Training

At Torrens Transit we operate our own fully equipped training section located at our Morphetville depot. 

Over 50% of Adelaide Metro vehicles are fully accessible. Of you require any accessible vehicle on your travel, call Torrens Transit on 8350 4433 on the day of travel to check if one is available on your route for the service you wish to use.

The following services are currently operated using fully accessible vehicles.

121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126, 130, 131, 132, 135, 137, 138 and 139

Depot. As well as providing all aspects of driver training for both new and existing employees, we also arrange training in speciality areas for our mechanical and managerial employees. The training section also undertakes regular assessments of our existing employees driving performance to ensure that our high standards are maintained.
