A new fuelling system for Bay Island Transit means a better schedule of services for passengers heading to work, home or on holidays in the Moreton Bay Marine Park.
The BITS vessels operating in the region have previously headed up Weinam Creek to refuel but Transit Systems is currently constructing a new fuelling bay for the BITs ferries at the ferry terminal that will offer residents and guests a better turnaround of over water transport services.
Located next to the ticket office at the Weinam Creek Marina Jetty, the new fuel system is scheduled for completion on 27 March 2012 and boasts the latest electronic fuel capabilities to ensure a much quicker fuelling turnaround.
In light of the new fuelling capabilities and in conjunction with recent bus scheduling changes for surrounding regions, the Bay Island Transit timetable will be modified to ensure ferry services are connecting seamlessly with the new bus timetable.
Transit Systems take pride in offering an easy and fuss free travelling experience for all our passengers and we’re pleased to provide a more efficient service to both locals and tourists.
The sound of children laughing and playing was heard from the most unusual place as Bay Island Transit hosted the Transit Systems staff children’s Christmas party at the ferry depot on Russell Island recently. The pony rides were certainly a treat but the best surprise was left for the arrival of Santa. The Transit System’s staff combined have in excess of 35 children, with the majority of them under 5 years. The Transit Systems Group proudly continues the tradition of the old fashioned “work family Christmas party”.
