Do I need to book a seat on the ferry?
No, just turn up at the jetty terminal and buy a ticket at the Ticket Office. If the Ticket Office is closed then one way fares can be purchased on the boat.
Is the jetty and boat wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all the jetties are ramped and the boat entrances are at the ramp level.
Can I take my pet dog on the boat with me?
Yes, as long as it has a leash and muzzle on or contained in a pet box and is well controlled. There are certain breeds not allowed on the vessel, please go the rules and regulations section for further detail.
Can I take my bicycle on the boat?
Yes. The only restriction is motorized (petrol driven) bicycles.
How much luggage can I take with me?
Personal luggage is permitted. Large items such as white goods (fridges, washing machines etc) are not allowed. Further information can be found on the Rules and Regulations section of the web site. The general rule is that you personally are responsible for carrying the goods on and off the vessel.
Am I likely to get sea sick?
No, the trip is contained within what is called calm water areas. Due to the location of Stradbroke and the other islands, the sea is generally quite calm with minor chop. The size of the vessels also means that a steady trip is usual.
Can I get on and off the boat at each Island?
A return ticket is for travel to and from one island. If you wish to visit all islands or some of the islands there are two options:
1. A return ticket can be purchased to take you to the first stop then an interisland ticket to the next island and then use your original return ticket back to the mainland.
2. An Island Hopper ticket can be purchased that will take you from the mainland and used to visit all four islands and back to the mainland.
